Lake Kissimmee Camping Details

Location: Lake Kissimmee
We’re going camping, camping……….underneath the stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who: All Pack 617 Scouts, Parents and Siblings
What: Family Camping Trip to Lake Kissimmee
Where: Lake Kissimmee State Park, Lake Wales, FL Approx. 1 ½ hours from Orlando
When: November 10 – 12, 2006 Check In when you are able on Friday night; Check out 1:00 p.m. Sunday ( or whenever you get up and moving )
Why: Fun, Food, Friends. The Park has a 40 foot observation tower to view the beautiful surroundings. Lake Kissimmee is Florida’s 3rd largest lake and is great for catching largemouth bass, catfish, bluegill, crappie, and chain pickerel. We will be observing the park’s historical cow camp. The park will be presenting a living history of “cow hunter” life in 1870’s Florida. There are several nature/hiking trails.
How: Each family will drive their own vehicles and depart for the campground at a time that is convenient for them on Friday afternoon/ evening.
Cost: The cost of the campsite will be $40.00 per family for the weekend; $25.00 if you split the campsite with another family. If you will be splitting a campsite, please find your campsite buddy family and report this to your den leader with your reservation.

Please RSVP to your den leader if you will be attending. RSVP’s are due by the October 9th, Regatta Pack Meeting. Payment for sites will be collected from the den leaders at Scouting for Food Drop Off on Nov. 4th. Again, all payments are to be directed to the den leaders. Pack 617 has reserved all sites and we will coordinate the trip and make payments via den leaders. Once we have a final head count we will issue campsite assignments and coordinate cooking plans.
This will be a GREAT trip for Scouters of all ages!!!
