Hello Scouting Camping Families!
Here it is…….. My Hi Ho Cherry O, Let’s Go Camping, informational email. Please email me if any of your questions are not answered by the following information.
Anastasia Island Campout
May 16-19, 2008
Arrival /Departure:
Check In 3:00 p.m.
Check Out 1:00p.m.
The front gates to the park are locked at 8:00 p.m. each evening. If you will be arriving after 8:00 on Friday night you will need to call the park @ 904-461-2033 to get a gate code to gain entry into the park.
Camp Sites:
Camp sites are as follows per family. Please notify the park office when you check in which site you will be staying in. I will be sending a master list to the Park Ranger on Friday of every child’s name, number in the party, and their designated campsite, however if you come armed with your information (your site #), check in will be that much easier. All sites are reserved under my name (Jeannie Johnson).

Each campsite is shaded and has a picnic table, fire ring, DRINKABLE water, and electricity. There are bathrooms centrally located with hot showers, there are also washers and dryers if you feel the need to do laundry over the weekend!!
Fires:
Fires ARE being allowed still at Anastasia State Park as of yesterday morning. They are enforcing NO unattended fires!! If you start a fire at your campsite, YOU are responsible for it and may not leave it unattended at any time and must extinguish it properly. I assured them that we were a Cub Scout Pack from Orlando, Fl and that we would respect our fires. I would recommend double checking the allowance of fires at time of check in. Camping grills would be a great back up ( Be Prepared).
Activities/Schedules;
We are going to have a kite flying extravaganza on the beach Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Everyone is encouraged to join in on the fun. Make a kite; buy one; whatever you choose. Don’t worry, there will be plenty of wind!
